Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Summit

Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge will host the fifth annual Arkansas Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Summit on Thursday, Nov. 3 at the Embassy Suites in Little Rock. Seating is limited. Those who pre-register will have a full agenda emailed to them once finalized.

The daylong event is a free training and educational opportunity for law enforcement officers, medical professionals, pharmacists, educators and treatment professionals. The morning portion will include breakout sessions with four tracks. Rutledge will host a luncheon.

Along with the Attorney General’s Office, the Summit is being hosted by theĀ Arkansas Department of Human Services, Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy, FBI, MidSOUTH Center for Prevention and Training, Office of the State Drug Director, University of Arkansas Criminal Justice Institute, and theĀ U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

  1. I would like to know if we are able to attend the classes that would be of most benefit to our areas of expertise?

    • Of course. We have several attendees who sometimes skip around track sessions.

  2. Will there be CEUs for LCPs or LCSWs? Thanks

    • Yes, we are currently in the process of applying for continuing education.

  3. I would like to attend this summit again this year.

  4. Will there be continuing education offered for pharmacist?

    • Yes, we are currently in the process of applying for continuing education. They Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy oversees that part of the application.
